Hit-and-run case solved within 2 hours: Police

JAMMU, Aug 11: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Narwal area claimed to have solved a hit-and-run case within two hours.
A police official said that information was received from reliable sources that an unknown vehicle crushed a pedestrian identified as Kali Charan son of Rajun of Rajeev Nagar, Narwal, to death, when the latter was crossing the road at Rajeev Nagar Chowk, and later fled away.
On this, he said, a case FIR Number 189/2024 under Sections 281/106 BNS was registered and a special team was constituted under the supervision of SDPO East and SHO Bahu Fort to trace and arrest the accused driver of the vehicle.
He said taking the help of human and technical intelligence, the police team so constituted, arrested the accused driver identified as Gurdeep Singh of Rajasthan within two hours, garnering praises from the locals.
