JAMMU, Mar 24: Janipur Police solved a hit and run case with the arrest of accused motorcyclist.
As per police sources, a lady identified as Shanti Devi, wife of Nanak Chand of Janipur was seriously injured after hit by a motorcycle yesterday near main stop Janipur. The motorcyclist managed to escape from the spot.
The lady was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu where she failed to respond to the treatment and succumbed to her injuries.
After conducting autopsy, the body of the deceased lady was handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
A case under FIR Number 30/2021 under relevant Sections was registered at Police Station Janipur and hunt was launched to nab the motorcyclist.
After hectic efforts, a team from Police Station Janipur led by SHO Inspector Nayat Ali arrested the accused and seized the motorcycle.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
