Hit & run case solved, accused biker arrested

JAMMU, Oct 9: Arnia Police solved a hit and run case by arresting the accused biker.
As per police sources, on September 27 this year, an information was received from a reliable source that a motorcyclist hit a pedestrian identified as Ram Pyari, wife of Baldev Raj of Ward Number 3 Arnia near Trewa Morh. The biker managed to escape from the spot.
The injured lady was immediately shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where she breathed her last on October 3.
After completing medical and legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to legal heirs for last rites and accordingly a case FIR Number 92/2022 under Sections 279 and 304-A of IPC was registered at Police Station Arnia and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Station Arnia led by SHO Inspector Sumeet Sharma and assisted by PSI Mohd Ilyas was constituted under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Surinder Singh and SP Headquarters Ramnish Gupta.
The team put in hectic efforts and finally arrested the biker, who was identified as Rahul Kumar, son of Yog Raj, a resident of Karyal Arnia. The motorcycle bearing Registration Number JK02CA-1052 which was involved in the case has also been seized.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
