JAMMU, Feb 28: Akhnoor Police solved hit and run case by arresting the accused driver.
As per police sources, yesterday an information was received through reliable sources that one unknown vehicle driven by unknown driver in a rash and negligent manner at about 1930 hours when reached at Sohal hit a scooty bearing Registration Number JK02BS-0902 driven by person namely Narinder Kumar, son of Bulla Ram of Chaprayal, Khour.
Due to accident, scooty driver namely Narinder Kumar received injuries. Some locals shifted him to hospital. The unknown driver along with vehicle fled away from spot after committing the accident.
As per information, a case under FIR Number 51/2021 under Section 279 and 337 IPC was registered at Police Station Akhnoor and investigation started.
Special teams were constituted under the supervision of SHO Akhnoor Inspector Ravi Parihar and on the basis of technical inputs and after thorough investigation, the accused driver identified as Mohammad Zaffer, son of Abdul Hamid of Danyot tehsil Kalakot, district Rajouri was arrested who confessed to the said crime. On his disclosure, dumper without registration number was also recovered and seized accordingly.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
