KATRA, Apr 28: Hitesh Kala of Bahadurgarh in Haryana defeated Hind Kesari/Bharat Kesari Wrestler Satinder Malik of Chattershal Stadium Delhi and lifted 1st International Daroor Kesari Title 2018, here today.
The Dangal was organized by Daroor Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association at Village Daroor near holy Shrine Charan Paduka.
Renowned wrestlers from across the country participated in the Dangal, which was witnessed by large gathering of nearly 15,000 people from the District.
The first malli main bout wrestler Hitesh Kala was awarded with cash prize of Rs 60,000 along with traditional Gurj (Gadda) and Patta by SSP Reasi Tahir Bhat, Ex MLA Balwant Mankotia, Shiv Kimar Sharma and
Sohan Singh (Sonu), while runners-up Wrestler Satinder Malik got Rs 5,000 by SDM Katra Neelam Khajuria, ASP Naresh Singh, Deputy Commandant Sandeep Kumar and Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri).
25 bouts were played in the dangal and an amount of Rs 6, 00,000 distributed in the shape of cash prizes among the winners and runners-up Wrestlers.
SSP Reasi Tahir Bhat was the chief guest who witnessed the event and encouraged the youth to participate in rural sports. Joint Secretary J&K Sports Council Shiv Kumar Sharma presided over the function.
SDM Katra Neelam Khajuria, Sadhavi Gumashwari Devi, ASP Katra Naresh Singh were the guests of honour. SSP Dr Ashok Kumar Sharma, DySP Vinod Kumar, Deputy Commandant CRPF Sandeep Kumar, Assistant Commandant CDPF Shalik Ram, Ex. Sarpanch Balwan Singh and Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri) were also present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, in the second bout, Leun of Georgia defeated Benia Min of Basantgarh (Udhampur). Leun was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 40,000 while runners-up Benia Min got Rs 35,000.
