Srinagar, May 5: Police today arrested a militant of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen in Kokernag area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Acting on a specific input, a cordon and search operation was launched at Sagam in Kokernag by police and Army’s 19RR today.
One militant was arrested along with arms and ammunition during the operation. He has been identified as Mohammad Ishfaq Shergojri resident of Nowgam Verinag.
A C-category Hizb militant, he was active since 15th September 2017 in Anantnag district and was wanted in many militancy related cases.
