HM claim responsibility for Kashmir highway attack

SRINAGAR: Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) claimed responsibility for the attack on an Army convoy on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway that left two soldiers dead and four others wounded today.

A spokesman for the HM told local media that militants of the outfit attacked the army convoy at lower-Munda Qazigund in south Kashmir today. He claimed that four soldiers were killed and seven others were critically injured.

He claimed that all the militants who carried out the attack reached to their hideout safely who will be rewarded for carrying out successful attack.
The spokesman warned more such attacks, which came a day after Army Chief General Bipin Rawat chaired a high-level meeting of Army commanders in Srinagar to review the security situation in the hinterland and on the Line of Control (LoC).
