JAMMU, Jan 14: Congress has said that the visit of Home Minister Amit Shah failed to send any assurance to different suffering sections of people agitating on the streets especially, the unemployed and temporary employed youth, KP employees and Jammu reserved category employees and all the assurances by the BJP leaders have proved to be false, hollow, only meant for local public consumption.
Commenting on the outcome of the visit of Home Minister, JKPCC chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma said that the agitating KPs and Jammu employees besides large numbers of different categories of aggrieved youth, be they unemployed, daily wagers, need bases, contractual, NHM or other similar categories of temporary employees besides PoJK refugees and others wanted to hear from the Home Minister about their genuine demands but were left dismayed.
Similarly, the recent eviction orders of thousands of farmers and poor people from Government lands has put people în great distress but the local BJP failed to apprise the Home Minister about the unrest amongst people.
He said a lot was expected as the UT administration is directly under the Home Ministry but nothing meaningful was achieved on various fronts, especially about the assurance regarding restoration of statehood and holding of early elections.
