SRINAGAR, Apr 1: The Health & Medical Education Department today ordered the establishment of control rooms in hospitals for speedy and quality healthcare services for patients.
In a circular issued in this regard, the H&ME stated that the control room should be conspicuous, easily accessible to patients and attendants, and located as near to the emergency premises of the hospitals as possible.
“These should be equipped with adequate manpower round the clock with proper connectivity of telephone services. All calls from different departments shall be transferred to the respective departments for prompt and efficient patient care,” the H&ME stated while detailing the requirements.
The officials manning the control rooms, it has been stated, shall maintain a record of all calls from different departments and ensure that these calls are attended to within the stipulated time.
“The doctors/ consultants/ faculty members shall mandatorily attend all such calls.”
H&ME stated that setting up Control Rooms inside the Hospital premises across all Government Health Institutions aims to provide speedy and quality healthcare services to patients admitted to hospitals, especially tertiary care institutions.
Consequently, H&ME directed that all Government Medical Colleges/other tertiary care Institutions of the Health & Medical Education Department of the UT of J&K establish Control Rooms as detailed above for inter-departmental consultation of in-door patients by consultants/faculty members of different departments and for other emergency contacts/consultations within their respective institutions.
“These circular instructions shall be complied with in letter and spirit by all doctors, consultants, and faculty members without fail.”
