H&ME releases Rs 56 lakh for Anti-Hemophilic, Rabies medicines

SRINAGAR, Jan 23: To ensure the availability of crucial drugs and vaccines at two key medical institutions of J&K, Health & Medical Education (H&ME) Department has released funds amounting to over Rs 56 lakh for the procurement of anti-haemophilic drugs and anti-rabies vaccines in the on-going financial year.
The funds have been released in favour of the Government Medical College (GMC), Srinagar and Jammu. According to the details, GMC, Jammu will get Rs 31 lakh and 50 thousand, while as GMC Srinagar, has been given Rs 23 lakh and 10 thousand.
Details further state that the amount sanctioned in favour of the GMC, Jammu will be utilized for the procurement of anti-haemophilic drugs while as GMC Srinagar will procure anti-rabies vaccines with the amount sanctioned for the year 2023-24.
The amount, H&ME said, has been released out of the available funds and up to the extent indicated against the medical colleges.
“The funds are for further placement at the disposal of the Managing Director, J&K Medical Supplies Corporation Ltd, on account of procurement of anti-haemophilic drugs and anti-rabies vaccines during 2023-24,” H&ME said.
The advance drawal of the funds, H&ME said, has been made subject to the conditions, which includes that the amount drawn shall be spent during the current financial year.
H&ME noted that the Chief Accounts Officer, Accounts Officer, GMC, Srinagar and Jammu shall vouchsafe the availability of funds.
“All codal formalities/ procedures/ standing orders shall be observed before making the purchases; Utilization Certificate of the advance shall be submitted to the Accountant General within stipulated time,” H&ME said.
Meanwhile, the H&ME Department has appointed an inquiry officer to look into the allegations against an officer who has been allegedly getting back to back promotions, directing for a report in this regard within two weeks.
“Sanction is, accorded to the appointment of Madan Lai, Chief Accounts Officer, Directorate of Family Welfare, MCH & Immunization, J&K as an Inquiry Officer to conduct an in-depth inquiry into the allegations/complaints against successive promotions/adjustments/ placements made in favour of Rakesh Sharma, Incharge State Mass Education & Media Officer, from time to time,” H&ME stated in an order issued.
The Inquiry Officer, H&ME stated, shall submit the report along with clear recommendations to the Administrative Department within a period of fifteen days.
