HoD Anatomy, other docs attend NSCASI in Punjab

JAMMU, Nov 7: Faculty of Department of Anatomy, Government Medical College, Jammu attended the CME-cum- Workshop and 8th annual conference of North States Chapter of Anatomical Society of India (NSCASI) at Guru Gobind Singh Medical College, Faridkot in Punjab.
The delegation headed by Dr Sunanda Raina, Professor & Head, Department of Anatomy comprised Dr Nusrat Jabeen, Assistant Professor, Dr Rachna Magotra, Assistant Professor, Dr Richa, Demonstrator, Dr Meenu Sharma and Dr Arban Kumar, Post Graduates.
They attended different scientific sessions and plenary lectures delivered by Anatomists of national and international fame. Dr Sunanda Raina was chairperson for three guest faculty lecture sessions and was given appreciation award.
The department secured first position in Poster Presentation among all the colleges of Northern States. Dr Meenu Sharma made the presentation under guidance of Dr Raina and the topic was “Effect of Therapeutic Doses of Diclofenac Sodium on the Gross Morphology of Liver of Albina Rats”.
Dr Simriti, the third year PG student of the Department made an oral presentation on topic “Variations in Sacral Hiatus Anatomy: Important Reason of Failure of Caudal Epidurals” during scientific sessions.
The Department of Anatomy will be holding 9th North States CME and conference in Jammu in 2014, Dr Raina said.
