Hold inquiry into Sikh cop’s killing: SAD

JAMMU, Oct 21: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), Amristar has demanded inquiry into the killing of a police constable driver at Baramulla on October 16 and punish the people responsible for the gruesome murder of the member of minority community.
Addressing a press conference here today National vice president of the SAD (Asr), Jaspal Singh Mangal said that young Constable (driver) Kamal Nain Singh hailing from Baramulla in Kashmir died in stone pelting and beating up by some unidentified people. He was attacked when he was returning to Baramulla from Srinagar in a police vehicle.
The Sikh youth died under mysterious circumstances and it has been projected by the other colleagues that he died due to stone pelting.
Mr Mangal alleged that there was some foul play and the department was hiding the facts. He demanded that Government should hold an impartial inquiry into the matter. The killers be identified and punished as per law of the land. He said the Minority Commission be set up in the State or the framework of  National Minority Commission be extended to J&K State. He further demanded Rs 5 lakhs compensation/ ex-gratia relief for the family of the deceased and Government for at least one member of this family.
