JAMMU, Feb 3: The base camp of holy town of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi has became the victim of the apathy of the Municipal Committee and other concerned departments.
The main bus stand is in dilapidated condition and no one from the concerned departments were bothered about it.
As thousand of devotees arrive and depart to their desired destinations from this holy town, the concerned departments dealing in the cleaning and repairing of the roads are not paying any heed towards the dilapidated condition of the roads and drains.
Shopkeepers namely Romesh Chander, Ajay Sharma, Deepak Kumar and Rajinder Sharma said that they took up the matter with the concerned departments but till date nothing has been done.
Not only locals but devotees too have raised the question before the Minister for Development and Urban Local Bodies Nawang Rigzin Zora but nothing has been done till date, compelling them to come on roads, they said.
“We are doing business at bus stand and lodged protests against concerned departments but all in vain”, they alleged.
