JAMMU, Oct 28: Additional DG Border Security Force Arun Kumar, IG BSF Jammu Frontier, D K Upadhayay, IG CRPF Kuldip Dhar and several other officers and other ranks of Para Military forces paid their homage to Head Constable Jitender Kumar Singh who attained supreme sacrifice while guarding border in Jammu sector.
During fierce cross border firing on India-Pak border, HC Jitender Kumar laid down his life while defending the sanctity of the borders and made supreme sacrifice in the service to the nation. Late jitender K Singh martyred during heavy firing from across the border on Oct 27 at about 9 am, while giving befitting reply to the suppressing enemy fire.
Today, a wreath laying ceremony was held Frontier Headquarters Paloura camp, Jammu in force traditions and rich tribute were paid to brave heart, Late Jitender Singh. Arun Kumar ADG BSF Western Command, DK Upadhayay IG BSF Jammu, Pankaj Kumar IG CRPF, Kuldeep Dhar IG CRPF, Ram Awatar DIG/PSO BSF and all BSF officers and men paid floral tribute to the martyr on this occasion.
While speaking on the occasion, Arun Kumar said that BSF has the history of bravery and always committed to ensure sanctity of International border and safety/ security of the border population. This brave act has once again proved that border men sacrifice their life if it comes to the nation security. As BSF manned to protect the sovereignty of the national boundary, people of the nation can sleep fearlessly while border men are on duty. ADG reiterated that as a peaceful country, we never initiate fire from our side but will never hesitate to give befitting reply if we will be compelled to resort fire.
Cremation of martyr will be held at his native village Mauze, Tehsil Rasksual , in district Motihari of Bihar tomorrow.
