Homage paid to freedom fighters

JAMMU, July 31: J&K Freedom Fighters Association in a simple but impressive function held today, paid homage to the martyrs and freedom fighters, who laid their lives for the freedom of India and to remember the death anniversary of Shaheed Udham Singh, who killed mastermind of Jallianwala Bagh Massacre, General Dyre.
Speaking on the occasion, the guests of honour, municipal commissioner, Kuldeep Khajuria, Joint Commissioner, Babu Ram, RTO Jammu, VS Slathia and ARTO Mohd Saleem stressed the need for including of life history of the martyrs in the text books of the children for awakening the feeling of patriotism among them from the very beginning.
Chairman, Bhushan Lal Gupta, president, Ved Gandotra and vice-president, Tej Ram Dogra, exhorted the youth to come forward to change the rotten and corrupt system in the country, No doubt, it is difficult to look beyond the livelihood, job and career but to save the country from the clutches of corrupt and dishonest must be always in the mind of every youth of the country, they added.
They further said that the corrupt leadership in the country and the states have left no stone turned in propagating alcohol, drugs, corruption and illegality in the youth, which is leading the country to towards chaos and now it is the sole duty of the youth to discard all those wrongs and look towards the deeds of the martyrs and work for a strong and united India and fight all those social evils that come in the way.
Prominent among others who spoke included Akhter Hussain, Madan Monika, MR Bangotra, Amrit Sagar, Raj Kumar Tyagi, Deepak Sharma and many others.
