Home Guards delegation calls on Chief Secretary

JAMMU, Jan 3: A delegation of All J&K Home Guard Welfare Association led by its president, Kamla Sharma today called on Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo and highlighted their problems before him.
The delegation submitted a memorandum to Chief Secretary in which reference was made to recent communication issued by the Director Civil Defence and Home Guards Government of India where in all the State/ UTs were directed to update the Model Home Guard Bill of 168 and 1969, also where in the role of HG has been applauded who always rise to the occasion in the odd hours.
Through the memorandum an appeal was made to Chief Secretary that the necessary comments in this regard may be submitted to the higher ups and the communication issued by Director Home Guards and Civil Defence Government of India be also implemented.
The Association said that the Home Guards in J&K are totally ignorant whether they have been included in the Home Guard Bill or not.
Other members of the delegation were Santosh Kumari, Arti Kumari, Boly Devi, Sakeena, Ghulam Ahmed, Gulzar Ahmed, Nisar Ahmed, Trade Union leaders, Babu Hussain Malik and Surinder Andotra.
