NEW DELHI : Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today called a high-level meeting to take stock of the situation in the wake of terrorists attack on an Army Rear Base at Uri, in which 17 soldiers were martyred.

The meeting, being  held at the residence of the Home Minister, was attended by the national Security Adviser Ajit Doval, Home Secretary, Defence Secretary, DGMO and  heads of security and intelligence agencies.        Meanwhile, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar was today going to Srinagar to review the situation.

Mr Singh today postponed his visit to Russia and the US  in the wake of the attack. ” Keeping the situation of Jammu and Kashmir in mind and in the wake of terror attack in Uri, I have postponed my visits to Russia and the US,” the Home Minister tweeted.

He  also spoke to the Governor and Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir regarding the terror attack in Uri.  (AGENCIES)
