Homeopathy Hospital and College for J&K

The UT of Jammu and Kashmir is on the cusp of a transformative development with the imminent establishment of its inaugural Government Homeopathy Medical College in the village of Rakh Hoshyari, nestled within the Kathua district. The Union AYUSH Ministry has expeditiously endorsed the proposal and allocated a substantial sum of Rs 70 crore to realise this pivotal initiative. The Government is exerting additional endeavours to rejuvenate various indigenous Indian systems of medicine, as evidenced by the meticulously devised and progressively implemented plan by the AYUSH Ministry. A pivotal step in this initiative involves the establishment of a Homeopathy Medical College in Kathua. Undeniably, Homeopathy has demonstrated remarkable efficacy in treating certain diseases. Despite the presence of over five hundred active practitioners of Homeopathy in Jammu and Kashmir, a conspicuous void exists, as there is no dedicated hospital for patients to seek and avail themselves of the medicinal benefits of this therapeutic discipline.
Furthermore, the imperative need to pass on the legacy of homoeopathy to the next generation remains unmet, given the absence of a Homeopathy Medical College in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The visionary decision by the Government to institute such a college is underscored by the issuance of grants, paving the way for admissions and classes to commence in the forthcoming session at a provisional site. The profound impact of this strategic move will resonate across the entire region once the medical college and hospital come to fruition. Students will be equipped with the knowledge and skills in this alternative medical discipline, heralding benefits for thousands of individuals. Analogous to Ayurveda, Homeopathy is distinguished by its minimal side effects, offering not just palliative relief but a profound cure from the core. While the construction of the college and hospital buildings may entail a time-intensive process, the adage that well-begun tasks are already half-done rings true. The Government merits resounding accolades for translating such visionary ideas into tangible actions that profoundly impact public health.
