NEW DELHI, Mar 3: Honda Cars India today launched the updated version of its compact sedan Amaze priced between Rs 5.29 lakh and Rs 8.19 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) while it gears up to offer dual airbags as standard equipment in all its vehicles sold in the country by March 2017.
The company will offer dual SRS airbags as standard equipment in all the new models launched from April onwards.
“Vehicle safety is of top importance for us at Honda. From the forthcoming financial year every new Honda model introduced in the market will come equipped with dual SRS airbags as standard ,” Honda Cars India Ld (HCIL) President & CEO Katsushi Inoue told reporters here.
By 2017, the company’s entire model line up will have dual SRS airbags as standard equipment, he added.
The new Amaze would also have a base variant that would come with dual airbags. Bookings of the variant with safety kit would begin from May.
Inoue said: “It has been a significant model for HCIL. Over 2 lakh units of the model have been sold since it’s launch in April 2013, contributing 40 per cent of the cumulative sales in the country.”
The company is confident that the new Amaze will attract even more customers, he added.
HCIL posted a cumulative domestic sales of 1,74,629 units in the April 2015–February 2016 against 1,66,366 units in the previous corresponding, a growth of 5 per cent.
The petrol variants of the updated Amaze are priced between Rs 5.29 lakh and Rs 8.19 lakh. The automatic (CVT) variants are priced at Rs 7.19 lakh and Rs 8.19 lakh.
The diesel variants of the car are priced between Rs 6.41 lakh and Rs 8.19 lakh.(all prices ex-showroom Delhi).
The car comes with various features, including Bluetooth enabled audio system, automatic air conditioner and multi information display. (PTI)
