Honda to launch premium class 2-wheelers in India by 2020

MILAN, Nov 5:Two-wheeler manufacturer Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Private Limited has announced to launch premium class motorcycles and scooters by next year.
The company’s Operating Head-Brand and Communication Prabhu Nagaraj told here on Tuesday that the demand for premium-class two-wheelers in the Indian market is increasing drastically.
“There is increasing interest among the youth for premium category vehicles in the country,” he said.
Mr Nagaraj also added that the Japanese company will also introduce two-wheelers in the Indian market for Indian youth, which can be seen only in the European market.
He said that the company is meeting the environmental standards of Europe and these vehicles will soon be introduced in the Indian market. Earlier, Tom Gardner, the company’s senior vice president of European territory, released a new version of the motorcycle CBR 1000RR globally. Along with this, new versions of SH125i, CMS 500 Rebel and Africa Twin were also launched in the global market and new version of CB 1000R, motorcycle was introduced.

All these vehicles are designed keeping in mind the requirements of the year 2020.
Mr Nagaraj said all these vehicles will be introduced in Indian market by 2020 and added that these new vehicles will be liked by the Indian youth and consumers.
The company also plans to expand its network in rural areas also. Customers have confidence in us and our products and the company will take full advantage of it.
He said that there is a need to develop infrastructure for electric vehicles in India right now. Two-wheelers are in great demand in rural areas as most people use them daily. And it is imperative to have basic infrastructure to meet the rising demand.
