Hooking of several pumps removed, action under Electricity Act initiated

JAMMU, July 8: In continuation to inspection drive on the directives of higher authorities of JPDCL and under supervision of Executive Engineer Division Vijaypur Narotam Kumar, the team of Sub Division Bari Brahmana inspected Palli village.
The increase in load due to unabated use of agricultural pumps has worsened the power supply in this area. People are resorting to illegal hooking for running agriculture pumps without getting them registered in the department.
To curb this practice, hooking of several pumps were removed and action under Electricity Act was initiated. Public were requested to legalize their load.
In addition to check agriculture load, village Palli was also inspected.
Around 75 connections were thoroughly checked, illegal load removed and hidden/bypassed load of around 25 KW reflected in bills of consumer, which will be incorporated in enduing bills with penalty of Rs 48,000.
People were advised to abide by the rules of Department, regularise load and don’t resort to thefts as it will amount to penalty as well as punishment according to law.
The team was led by AE KN Singh and accompanied by Harmeet Singh, Vinod, Mushtaq, Ravi, Raju, Puru and Ramesh.
