JAMMU, Aug 22: Department of Horticulture, Jammu, organized one-day mega farmers camp at village Handwal in block Bhalwal, here today.
The camp was attended by a number of local farmers along with Sarpanchs and Panchs of adjoining areas. Chief Horticulture Officer Jammu, S Kirtan Singh Raina along with DLMS Sarabjeet Singh, Sanjeev Kumar and HOO Bhalwal Sandeep Sharma, Director RSETI (SBI) Bank and Sandeep Sandy participated in this camp and informed the farmers about aims and objectives of the programme.
The Chief Horticulture Officer informed about current schemes being implemented by the department. He also assured all possible support to the farmers.
The farmers made a strong demand for plantation of Harad plants on large scale in the area as this plant has got immense medicinal commercial value.
During the camp, various Horticulture related problems were discussed in detail and DLSMSs answered the queries put forth by the farmers.
