REASI, Sept 4: Patients at District Hospital Reasi had to suffer as the medical staff went on flash strike following alleged assault on their colleague by attendant of a victim of hair chopping case, here today.
The trouble erupted this morning when a victim of hair chopping incident was brought to the hospital and a big number of her family members and relatives also forced their entry into the ward, where she was admitted. As the hospital staff asked all the attendants, except one of them, to leave the ward, the latter entered into verbal dual with the former.
Soon the verbal dual turned into heated exchange of words and allegations of thrashing by each other and consequent suspension of work by the medical staff.
On the other hand, attendants of the victim also held separate protest alleging that they were thrashed by the Medical staff.
Later, SHO Reasi and Tehsildar Reasi personally reached the spot and pacified the situation after which the Medical staff returned to their duties. However, no case was registered in this connection against any one.
