Hot Mix plant owners hold protest

SRINAGAR, Apr 11: A group of Hot Mix plant owners today staged protest against the Government for  non-fulfillment of promises and timely release of payment for their work.
The protesters demanded that their pending bills be released on time, so that they could carry on their work regularly, otherwise, due to financial crunch maximum of the plants stand near its closure. The protesters said that the tar supplied to them by Government has to pay service tax twice, as Government supplied tar already falls in VAT at the rate of 10 percent.
The protesters demanded that tippers carrying bituminous material should be allowed to run during the day time as well, so that the smooth work will go on every time.
