Srinagar Aug 23: Gulmarg Development Authority last evening sealed Hotel Hilltop in Gulmarg tourist destination for violating the court order and carrying out constructions illegally.
On the direction of the Chief Executive Officer of Gulmarg Development Authority, Law Officer Gulmarg Development Authority Aijaz Ahmad Monga along with Magistrate and other officers sealed the hotel.
The GDA had also registered an FIR No. 07 2020 U/S 188 IPC on 07-08-2020 against the hotel at the Gulmarg Police Station for violating the law.
An official said that the hotel owner was directed several times to stop the illegal construction. However, under the garb of Covid-19 lockdown and ban on movement of public and blanket ban on construction, the hotel management continued to undertake constructions and violated the court orders.
“Several notices were issued to the hotel owner and fresh sow case notice was issued by the Chief Executive Officer GDA bearing no. GDA/2020/F-902/334-42 dated 10-07-2020 and the hotel owner replied to the notice vide no: HTT/2013 dated 13-07-2020,” he added.
“Whereas the perusal of the committee report and your reply it came to fore that the reply submitted by you is not satisfactory and you were directed to desist from such activities”, read a notice sent to the hotelier.
“Whereas yours continuous breach and adamant approach prompted this office to lodge an FIR against Hotel Hilltop in police station Gulmarg bearing FIR No. 07/2020 U/S 188IPC on 07-08-2020. After that Court Commissioner also, visited the hotel on 12-08-2020 and has taken a strong note that the hotelier is not adhering the rules and conditions already in vogue,” the order stated.
