JAMMU, Mar 8: The Legislative Assembly was today adjourned due to lack of quorum in the House indicating lack of seriousness on the part of both treasury benches and Opposition members.
When BJP MLA from City East Ashok Khajuria was speaking on debate on budget proposals in the Legislative Assembly, Deputy Speaker Sartaj Madni, who was in the chair, announced adjournment of the House for lack of quorum.
Only five Ministers were present in the House at the time of adjournment.
The House remained adjourned for five minutes and resumed working after more members joined the proceedings and the quorum was completed.
In the House of 89, 23 members were required for the quorum.
