POONCH, July 3: A residential house today caught fire due to leakage of cooking gas cylinder at Mandi in Poonch district due to which some loss of property was reported.
Official sources and the family members said that the wooden house suddenly caught fire in afternoon following leakage of cooking gas cylinder. Soon locals started extinguishing fire. Later fire tenders also reached the spot along with some police and the operation to douse the fire was launched. Till the fire was controlled, kitchen was completely damaged along with goods inside which turned into ashes, while the rooms also received damages.
The house belonged to Akber Ali Ansari. He said that due to prompt action of Fire Services men and with the efforts of locals the fire could be controlled and the other portion of the house was saved. SHO Mandi said that cognizance of the incident has been taken.
