JAMMU, Dec 17: A meeting of House Committee (HC) of Legislative Council constituted to look into alleged bungling and embezzlement of public money worth crore of rupees in JAKFED was held under the chairmanship of MLC, Khalid Najeeb Suharwardy here today.
Legislators, Ravinder Kumar Sharma, Naresh Kumar Gupta, Ali Mohammad Dar and Syed Mohammad Rafiq Shah were present in the meeting.
The committee discussed threadbare the report of Pillai Committee constituted to probe the scam and the details of investigation besides action taken so far against those involved.
Expressing displeasure over non-submission of some relevant records by the concerned JAKFED authorities, the Committee directed them to submit the same in the next meeting positively so further necessary action in this regard would be initiated.
During the meeting, Former Commissioner Secretary, Cooperative Department S. M. Fazlullah gave some vital information to the Committee.
The Committee sought detailed information about the transactions made by the officials of JAKFED which form the part of the scam.
It was also stressed upon the authorities to ensure submission of proper records related to the matter to the Committee to enable it to complete the report in a stipulated time frame.
Secretary, Cooperative, R. K. Koul, Managing Director, Cooperative, J. A. Shah besides Deputy Secretary, Legislative Council, Ishfaq Ahmed Wani attended the meeting.
