MENDHAR, Dec 20: A major fire broke out in a house in Kalaban village of Mendhar Sub Division of Poonch district this evening, completely destroying the property.
Official sources said that the house belonging to a retired Army personal suddenly caught fire during late evening. Local residents rushed to the site and tried to extinguish the flames, but the fire spread rapidly, causing extensive damage to the property worth lakhs of rupees.
The house belonged to Masarat Hussain, a retired Defence personal. Fortunately, no casualties were reported, but all belongings inside the house were destroyed in the flames.
Fire fighters later brought the fire under control with hours of efforts. Police have launched an investigation into the incident. Cause of fire could not be known.
