UDHAMPUR, Dec 31: Eleven domestic animals were perished in a devastating fire that engulfed a house at village Mrothi near Sudhmahadev and Latti, here this morning.
The house of Anant Ram, son of Loku Ram was completely gutted in the accidental fire and 11 animals, including two cows, four sheep and five goats were burnt alive.
Even as there was no loss of human life and all the family members were timely rescued, the entire house was completely gutted in the fire as there was np Fire Brigade vehicle in the adjoining area. By the time Fire tenders reached the spot from Chenani, all the household items and the house were virtually reduced to ashes.
A few days ago, another house was gutted in accident fire in the area.
Despite repeated requests by the locals for a Fire Brigade station at Latti, no initiative has been taken by the Government in this regard.
Meanwhile, house of one Sat Pal Sharma at Shiv Nagar Udhampur was badly damaged due to LPG cylinder blast following accidental fire because of gas leakage.
