UDHAMPUR, Dec 29: In yet another incident of major fire, a three- storey house was completely gunned at village Bari in Latti Panchayat (A), last night.
Even as there was no loss of life, the entire house and belongings of the family reduced to ashes. They house was owned by one Bashir Ahmed, who said that all their belongings and assets reduced to ashes within minutes.
Even as local villagers tried their best to control the flames, nothing could be saved except the family members. The locals alleged that despite repeated attempts, authorities at the Fire and Emergency Services, Chenani did not respond thus resulting into the major loss in fire.
Led by Sarpanch of Latti- A, Kasturi Lal Gupta, the locals held a strong protest demonstration today against the Fire & Emergency authorities. They demanded a Fire Station at Latti for emergency service in the area.
