KISHTWAR, Mar 29: Fire inflicted massive damage to the house of a Village Defence Committee (VDC) member wherein his gun, 95 cartridges and household items were gutted in Gangna Tagood area here today.
As per Police sources, an information was received telephonically at Police Post Mughal Maidan that a fire incident had occurred in the house of VDC member Kailash Kumar, son of Badrinath, resident of Gangna, Tagood.
After getting information about the fire incident a team of cops led by SHO Vikram Singh of Police Station Chatroo and PSI Rohit Kumar, In-charge Police Post Mughal Maidan rushed to the spot along with the fire brigade team from Chatroo for dousing the blaze.
In the fire incident the house was badly damaged.
After hectic efforts by Police, fire brigade and the locals the fire was brought under control.
However there was no loss of human life and livestock in the incident.
