RAJOURI, May 14: The police during a raid in Dhanni Dhar area of Rajouri destroyed poppy cultivation spread over vast areas of land here today.
Official sources said that police parties from Police Station Rajouri led by SHO Showkat Ahmed and Incharge Police Post Rajouri City, SI Sahil Choudhary under the close supervision of DySP Headquarters Mudasar Hussain conducted raid on specific inputs and destroyed huge quantity of poppy cultivation spread over nearly one kanal of land at Dhannidhar area of Rajouri which was cultivated by a drug peddler- Arjun Chandan, son of Subhash Chandan, resident of Dhani Dhar, Rajouri.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of the law has been registered against the accused person, sources added.
