BHADERWAH, Oct 16: A housewife was attacked with sharp edged weapon (knife) by a thief for resisting burglary attempt in her house at village Darena, falling under the jurisdiction of Bhalla police post.
As per police sources, a thief identified as Saqib, son of Shabir Ahmed of village Darena Bhalla barged in the house of Farooq Ahmed in the same locality during the intervening night of October 15 and 16 with an intention to commit burglary.
The wife of Farooq Ahmed namely Farida Begum tried to resist the burglary attempt, but accused attacked her with sharp edged weapon (Knife), causing grievous head injuries to the lady. The accused escaped from the spot.
The profusely bleeding victim was rushed to District Hospital Doda and was later referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where she was undergoing treatment, when reports last came in.
A case under FIR Number 107/15 under Section 452 and 307 RPC has been registered at Bhalla police post and manhunt has been launched to nab the thief.
However, the accused was at large when last reports were compiled.
