UDHAMPUR, Apr 29: A young housewife received burn injuries at the house of her in-laws at Battal Majalta, here today.
She was identified as Ritu Devi (23) wife of Madan Singh of Battal Majalta According to the family members, she received burn injuries while cooking food. She was rushed to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors referred her to GMC Hospital Jammu.
Meanwhile, a teenaged youth attempted suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at his house in village Kalta Patnitop. He was identified as Romesh Chander (16) son of Bodh Raj.
The family members took him to District Hospital Udhampur and his condition was stated to be stable.
Cause behind the provocation could not be ascertained.
