How to Succeed After Failed IVF ?

Dr Richa Sharma
So, before starting a fresh cycle a few pre- requisites:
Counselling: Couples dealing with fertility problems are found to exhibit psychological distress and interventions helps in addressing this distress. It allows couples an opportunity to identify and discuss potential stressors so that necessary recommendations can be made. So, selecting a centre where pschycosocial counselling is the mandatory is important. It   helps in relieving stress and lifestyle modifications to make things better in next cycle.
Uterine cavity assessment :  Its called Hysteroscopy. It has a role esp in recurrent implantation failures (RIFS) but subtle defects in the endometrium may be picked up through hysteroscopy. Any abnormalities like septum, intrauterine adhesions, sub mucus fibroids, polyps etc. should be corrected before attempting another cycle. This improves the chances of implantation. So in house provision adds to success.
Blastocyst transfer: It is a day 5 embryo transfer and the highest form of life sustainable outside the womb. It ensures the embryo’s quality and has major contribution in increasing success rates. Thus while selecting an IVF centre choose the centre where its laboratory can offer you this technique.
Consider PICSI/ Sperm Slow technique as a Choice:  In this technique sperm motility makes the sperm catching technique easier and helps the embryologist in selecting the right sperm in terms of its functional ability and DNA integrity rather than just looking for the motility and morphology. Choose a centre that ensures such high end embryology techniques.
