JAMMU, Dec 19: Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Acharya Dev Vrat today felicitated daughter of Jammu and Kashmir and President ‘The Performers’ Urja Singh on her best patriotic cultural items presented on J&K State folk at a function organised by Purab Sainik Kalayan Samiti (HP) in the memories of those jawans who sacrificed their lives in Indo-Pak Yijaya Yudh on December 16, 1971.
Director General of Police Himachal Pradesh Sanjay Kumar besides other civil and police administration officers including locals in large numbers were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Himachal Pradesh appreciated the performances presented by the ‘The Performers’ troupe and said, “The Performer Group and dance troupe is the best trope of the J&K who participated in musical events on national and international levels.”
He said that the Performers Group and Dance of Jammu is playing a pivotal role in uplifting of art, culture and languages of the State through musical events.
