HP : Union Minister Anurag Thakur celebrates 49th birthday at Samirpur

SAMIRPUR, Oct 24: Union Information and Broadcasting  Minister, Anurag Thakur on Tuesday  celebrated his 49th birthday at his native village Samirpur by meeting his parents and seeking their blessings.

Both his father and former HP Chief Minister, PK Dhumal and mother Sheela Dhumal blessed Anurag with long life and another long innings in the active politics.

Hundreds of party workers  were present on the occasion.

Thakur on this occasion cut and distributed cakes that were brought by his friends and well-wishers and thanked them for their blessings.

Talking to a group of reporters on this occasion, the Minister said the Congress party was anti-people and used to do the politics only for vote bank and had no love and affection for the people.

He said that Congress party had always exploited the people for votes and thereafter forgot them.

Replying to a question, he said that the Modi government had always stood by the Army and the Congress was making all irresponsible statements in the name of the army.

Thakur said that Ministers of many states have called and congratulated him on his birthday. He thanked everyone for wishing him on his birthday.

Anurag said that the government at the centre had worked with the basic mantra of Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas. (UNI)
