RAJOURI, Feb 19: Himalayan People’s Forum (HPF) has strongly pleaded the Chief Minister for creation of new administrative units in the left over deserving areas of Rajouri constituency and Rajouri district.
While highlighting the issue of creation of new administrative units, Chairman of the Forum, Istkhar Ali Khan, criticized the Cabinet Sub-Committee for its ignorance to the Pir Panjal region and urged the Government for creation of Sub-Division at Manjakote, Tehsil at Doongi, CD Blocks at Dehri Raylote and Mangalnar while Niabats at Kakora and Thandi Kassi.
He pointed out that no proper share was given to the entire Pir Panjal region while creating new administrative units as a result of which most deserving areas were ignored, which is matter of grave concern and discrimination to the people of Rajouri and Poonch.
Khan appealed the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to consider the demands of the people of Rajouri and Poonch for more administrative units at the earliest. He also urged for carving out another district out of twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch.
