HRBEF scholarships: 800 needy children appears for evaluation tests

JAMMU, Sept 12: Written evaluation tests for scholarships were held by Harbans Rohan Bhalla Educational Foundation (HRBEF) from August 24 to September 10, 2023 in which students from class 1 to 10 participated.
During these tests prizes were also given to top performers.
HRBEF has been giving scholarships since 1997 and the number of beneficiaries have grown from 12 initially to 600 this year and over 80 per cent of the beneficiary students are girl children from rural areas.
A handout of HRBEF stated: “Students are being given free online tuitions by our team on daily basis. HRBEF aims to cover as many rural children as possible in Jammu region areas like Hiranagar, Chak, Chakrohi, Arnia, Rattian, Doomi, Gajansoo, R.S Pura, Birpur, Rehian, Jourian, Dansal, Kangrail, Gurah Slathia, Ghou Manhasan, Saruinsar etc.”
The Foundation only selects financially weak students from government schools for scholarships.
Families of financially weak girl children from classes 1 to 3 may apply to HRBEF for scholarship.
