JAMMU, Dec 20: Union Home Secretary Anil Goswami today called on Governor NN Vohra, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Chief Secretary Mohammad Iqbal Khandey and discussed with them security and development scenario of the State.
Mr Goswami, who arrived here today on four days visit of Jammu, would hold a high level review of security situation with top brass of Army, para-military forces, Intelligence agencies and police on December 23.
The Union Home Secretary had an hour long meeting with Mr Vohra tonight, which was followed by a dinner.
The Governor discussed issues pertaining to internal security management and measures to be undertaken for maintaining sustained peace and harmony in the State.
Mr Goswami briefed Mr Vohra about several important matters related to strict watch on movements across the borders of the State.
The Union Home Secretary had a similar meeting with Omar in which security scenario of the State ahead of next year’s Lok Sabha and Assembly elections was discussed.
Several steps to maintain peace and calm in the State were discussed during the meeting.
Mr Goswami also met the Chief Secretary and reviewed with him security and development of the State.
Sources said several important issues pertaining to security and development projects were discussed and reviewed in the meeting.
