HSM honours Rajneesh Gupta with Navlekhan Tej Puraskar-2022

JAMMU, Oct 25: Rajneesh Gupta, a well- known writer-playwright of Jammu was honoured by Hindi Sahitya Mandal (HSM) with the annual Navlekhan Tej Puraskar- 2022 in a function held here today.
Deepak Kumar a well known Theatre Director was the chief guest on this occasion whereas Rajindera Sharma, Mayor, Jammu presided over the programme.
The award was given to Rajneesh Gupta for his drama-one-act book titled ‘Tandav’. This award is given by the Mandal in the memory of Late Tej Bhan Gulati with the support of his family and carries a cash amount of Rs. 11,000, a shawl and a citation.
This year, the jury of this award, appointed by HSM- J included poet-storyteller Maharaj Krishna Santoshi, writer-culture worker & former Additional Secretary, Cultural Academy Dr. Arvinder Amn and Prof. Rajni Bala, HoD Post- Graduate Hindi Deptt. University of Jammu, while deciding on the award winning collection, the judges expressed the opinion that the plays compiled in the collection ‘Tandav’ are maintaining standard and are inspiring.
In his presidential address Rajinder Sharma appreciated the efforts made by Hindi Sahitya Mandal, Jammu and the Gulati family for organizing such activities and promoting the cultural activities.
Deepak Kumar said that Rajneesh bears a sobre nature but very fast in execution of creative writing. He said that his truthfulness in his plays is evident everywhere in his awarded book. He also pleaded for providing pockets to the organizations working for the cause of art, culture and literature.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Smt. Uma Sharma, Literary secretary, HSM-J.
The vote of thanks was extended by Dr. Pawan Khajuria, Vice- President, HSM-J.
Dr. Chanchal Dogra, President, HSM, Chander Shekhar Gulati, from Gulati family, Ravinder Sharma, a theatre activist and Rajneesh Gupta shared the dais.
