JAMMU, Mar 30: President Hindustan Shiv Sena (HSS), Rajesh Kesri has expressed grave concern over hike in fee structure by private educational institutions and said the exorbitant fee structure has broken the back of middle class people.
In a statement issued here, today Kesri said besides high admission fee, most of the private schools charge a huge monthly tuition fee ranging between Rs 1500 to Rs 2000 per month. He said parents are being forced to pay prospectus fee of Rs 250, registration fee of Rs 1000, boarding charges above Rs 3000, security fee Rs 5000 and transport fee Rs 500.
These schools have made it mandatory for every student to purchase the text books, note books and other stationary items from the schools at high prices. Such schools are fleecing the parents by adopting various innovative means to extract money from them, he added.
He said different schools have different patterns of charging fees, the annual expenditure per student, including the tuition fee, bus fare, books and the school uniforms, costs too much to the parents which they can’t afford. He demanded that Government should initiate measures to ensure uniform fee structure for private institutions.
