Inter-School competitions of various zones

JAMMU, May 3: Government Higher Secondary School Jhajjar Kotli thrashed Saraswati Shiksha Niketan by an innings and five points, while High School Dansal defeated Shishu Vihar Public School by an innings and one point in under-17 years kho-kho boys competitions of Dansal zone which got underway at Youth Hostel, Nagrota.
The competitions which are held in the disciplines of kabaddi, kho-kho, volleyball and wrestling were declared open by SS Bali, Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports, Jammu in presence of Laxmi Dutt, Bishamber Nath, Chain Singh and Sanjay Jamwal.
In Kabadi under-17 years boys, GHS Dhammi trounced Rising Star Public School by 14 points (31-17), Sarswati Shiksha Niketan drubbed National Academy Jandarh by 18 points (50-32), GHS Katal Batal thrashed HSS Dansal by 20 points (35-15), GHS Dhammi outplayed Saraswati Shiksha Niketan Nagrota by 31 points (50-19) and HS Nagrota beat HS Katal Batal by 13 points (27-14).
In kho-kho under-14 boys, Greeen Field Public School Jhajjar Kotli drubbed Rising Star Nagrota, MS Domail prevailed over MS Dansal, MS Sitli beat Divine Public School, HS Nagrota outclassed MS Domail and Green Field PS toppled MS Sitli.
In wrestling 42 kg weight category, Wali Mohd toppled Sanju Sharma and Showkat Ali beat Amanat Ali, while in 46 kg category, Karamat Ali drubbed Ravi Kumar, in 55 kg Asif Khan outclassed Parvinder and in 60 kg Anayat Ali beat Rahul Singh.
The matches were officiated by Rajesh Sambyal, Kulbhushan Sharma, Anilshan, Anjana, Jasdev Singh, Ravinder, Kuldeep Sharma, Dheeraj Pal, Vikram Jamwal, Karnail Singh, Krish and Chander Shekhar under the supervision of ZPEO, Jeet Singh and under the overall supervision of Tirth Ram, DYSSO Jammu.
Meanwhile at Higher Secondary School, Miran Sahib, the School Principal BD Gorkha inaugurated the tournament of Miran Sahib zone in which the competitions in kho-kho, kabaddi and volleyball were held.
The matches were officiated by Iqbal Kour, Anita Kour, Gourav Sharma, Ravish Vaid, Parveen, Mulk Raj, Dilshad and Ravinder Singh.
The tournament is being held under the supervision of Harcharan Singh, Lecturer in Physical Education.
In Akhnoor zone also the competitions were held in the disciplines of kabaddi, kho-kho, volleyball and wrestling which were declared open by Principal Higher Secondary School Akhnoor, Bal Ji Thaploo under the overall supervision of ZPEO Sher Singh.
Meanwhile, in Bhalwal zone, Army School defeated MS Malpur in volleyball under-14 boys, while in under-17 boys, Army School Domana trounced Higher Secondary School Bhalwal. In kho-kho under-17 years boys, Anuradha Higher Secondary School drubbed Higher Secondary School Domana, while HS Agore outclassed HS Seri.
In wrestling event, Karan Kumar, Vishal Mehra, Anil Kumar and Amit Kumar emerged winners in 32, 35, 41 and 45 kg weight categories.
