HSS leader asks HM to solve problems of people of Jammu

JAMMU, June 23 : Welcoming the visit of Union Home Minister, Amit Shah to Jammu, State President of Hindustan Shiv Sena (HSS), Amit Kapoor has expressed hope that concrete steps will be taken to solve the problems faced by the people of Jammu.
He demanded that the fees of the pilgrims for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra starting from July 1 should be completely waived off and Toll Tax should also be waived off for these yatris. He also criticized the failure of the Government to provide round-the-clock electricity to the people in this Summer season despite the installation of smart meters in Jammu.
Vikrant Kapoor who raised these demands at a press conference here, today strongly advocated for waiving off the fees of Amarnath Yatris and exempting them from Toll Tax.
Kapoor said that despite the generation of so much electricity in Jammu and Kashmir, the people of Jammu are being forced to suffer in scorching heat due to heavy power cuts in this Summer season.
He also raised the issue of economic package for the refugees of PoJK. He said that the JPC had recommended Rs 30 lakh per family to these refugee, but later the State Government had said Rs 25 lakh per family. The Government is now silent on the issue after sanctioning only five lakh rupees per family. He said that the people of Jammu and especially the refugee were expecting relief from the BJP led Government at the Centre but all their hopes have dashed to the ground.
Kapoor requested Amit Shah to make an announcement regarding providing of relief to these refugees.
Kapoor also raised the demand for increasing the relief for Kashmir displaced people as it has not been increased for a long time. He said that in this era of inflation, it has become very necessary to increase their relief so that they can maintain their families well. He also questioned the functioning of the bureaucracy in Jammu and Kashmir and said that they have no knowledge of the problems being faced by the people at the ground level.
Senior HSS leaders Sunil Dabgotra, Anup Trikha, Baba Ram Kaith, Abhishek, Himanshu, Amit, Women’s Wing leaders Sapna Kohli, Jyoti Devi and others were also present during the press conference.
