JAMMU, Aug 9: Hindu Shiv Sena (HSS) here today staged a protest demonstration against the installation of Smart Power Meters in Jammu.
The protest was led by Krishan Manhas, HSS president and the protesters raised slogans against hefty power bills.
Addressing the protesters Manhas said that installation of Smart Power Meters should be stopped and disconnected power connections of poor should be restored.
He also demanded resumption of pensions for widows, old age and physically challenged persons.
Manhas condemned the abusive language used by officials of PDD with two widows from Bantallab area who approached them for restoration of their power connections.
Bachan Lal Bhagat, Raj Kumar, Pawan Chowdhary and others were also present in the protest.
