JAMMU : Security forces today recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition from a militant hideout busted in mountainous Ramban district, official spokesman here said.
“Based on specific information about the concealing of arms and ammunition by the militants, a police party accompanied by Rashtriya Rifle (RR) troops this afternoon launched a search operation in village Pulsar, of Bhimdassa area of Gool and recovered huge quantity of arms and ammunition,” the spokesman said.
He said during searches, one Pika Gun with sight, one RPG Launcher, four Grenades, 235 Pistol Rounds, 267 AK Rounds, 246, LMG Rounds, 790 Pika Rounds were recovered from the hideout.
“The place of recovery was at a walking distance of 45 minutes from the house of a slain militant Ghulam Qadir alias Tohid-ul-Islam, who was killed by Ramban Police in a fierce gun battle on May 25 this year,” he said.
An FIR has been registered. (AGENCIES)
