HuJI ultra nabbed in Gandoh

JAMMU, May 1: The Special Operations Group (SOG) Gandoh today arrested a militant of Harkat-ul-Jehad Islami (HuJI) from village Payakal under the jurisdiction of Gandoh police station in Doda district.
He has been identified as Ashiq Hussain, 29, son of Ghulam Mohammad, a resident of village Tanta in Thathri.
Police said despite his surrender in April, 2007, the militant had gone underground and was evading his arrest in five non-bailable warrants issued against him by various courts of erstwhile Doda district. Police for the past quite some time was searching him but he remained untraced.
However, a SOG Gandoh team today intercepted a TATA Sumo at village Payakal in Gandoh area of Doda district and arrested the HuJI militant, who was travelling in the vehicle.
Police said the militant would be produced in the courts, wherever he was wanted to undergo judicial trial in the cases registered against him when he was an active militant.
