The apparent settlement of Rohingyas in proximity to military installations at Sunjwan and Bari Brahmana, seemingly unchecked by law enforcement agencies, poses a significant threat to security. The failure of CID and police to raise red flags or monitor this burgeoning demographic shift is deeply troubling. Moreover, the issuance of domicile certificates to Rohingyas prompts scrutiny of the administrative processes and the potential existence of a deeper nexus. There are instances of the employment of illegal infiltrators by Government contractors without objection or intervention further underscores the systemic lapses and the pressing need for a comprehensive overhaul of security protocols.
A rigorous pursuit of the pending Rohingya case, securing a favourable judgement, and expeditiously deporting them to their country of origin is imperative. India, already grappling with overpopulation, cannot afford the repercussions of accommodating illegal migrants. On their part, the authorities in the Union Territory must swiftly acknowledge the gravity of the situation and implement immediate remedial measures to avert potential unrest and safeguard national security.
