“Humanity Welfare Organization” delegation, Rajinder Tiku meet Governor

SRINAGAR, May 18: A delegation of “Humanity Welfare Organization”, Bijbehara, led by its Hony. Chairman, Javed Ahmad Tak, called on N.N. Vohra, Governor, here at the Raj Bhavan today.
Highlighting the varied serious problems faced by the specially able persons, Mr. Tak urged the Governor to intervene for ensuring proper implementation by the various State Recruiting Agencies of the reservation rules relating to specially able persons; provision of ration cards to persons with disabilities under Antyodaya Anna Yojna and those who fall Below Poverty Line; 3% reservation for contractors with disabilities for allotment of contracts by all the Works Departments; appointment of a full time Disability Commissioner, and proper check on issuance of Disability Certificates.
The Governor assured the delegation that all their grievances will be taken up with the State Government.
Rajinder Tiku, a renowned sculptor and artist also called on Governor.
The Governor and Mr. Tiku discussed issues relating to the promotion and projection of Fine Arts in the State. The Governor conveyed high appreciation and complimented Mr. Tiku for receiving a most prestigious international award, the “Gottlieb Foundation Grant” for his excellent contribution in the field of Fine Arts.
